- Call up your local United Way agency and tell
them you want to volunteer - they will match you up with a agency in your town.
- Look in the local newspaper for different
events that are happening and volunteer to help out.
- Volunteer with an organization to keep roads
clean of litter.
- Volunteer to help your neighbor with some
chores, such as mowing lawn, washing windows, etc.
- Babysit without pay for someone who needs it.
- Volunteer at your local community theather as
an usher - you also get to see the play.
- Volunteer at a soup kitchen or food pantry.
- Call your local nursing home and see if they
need volunteers, maybe someone to write letters for the residents or read to
them.
- Volunteer at your church.
