Geometry

Hello! Welcome to Geometry.  I am your math teacher here at CompuHigh.  My name is Marcia.

Please read the notes below.

We are going to use a number of math symbols in this class and I need to define them here so that you will know what they are. They are very standard on any keyboard, so you have them.

    + Addition Sign
    - Subtraction/Negative Sign
    * Multiplication Sign
    /  Division Sign and Fraction Bar
    = Equal Sign
    < Less Than Sign
    > Greater Than Sign
    <= Less Than or Equal To Sign
    >= Greater Than or Equal To Sign
    <> Not Equal To Sign
    ^ Carat - this symbol raises a number to a power. It is right above your number six key.
    SQRT( )Square root of a number and the number will be inside the parentheses.

    It is a required part of this course for work to be shown on ALL revisions. I will request it if you do not show it- - Click here to see how to show your work. I will not give you credit for a lesson that requires revisions if work or explanation is not given. In addition, there is a general rule that if a student gets 3 or less problems incorrect on the first submission, then the student may move on to the next lesson. This is only valid FOR THE FIRST SUBMISSION. Once revisions are required, I will ask for work to be shown for whatever problems I deem necessary to prove mastery of the concepts presented. Also, if a lesson has less than 20 problems, I may ask for you to do revisions, even if 3 or less problems were incorrect on your first submission.

    If you need help, ask for help. Be specific with your questions and what you don't understand. I will try a little harder to explain myself. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me using the form at the bottom of the page. That is what I am here for. So jump right on in.
