Step 4 - Important Information about our school

Your most important responsibilities while enrolled in Compuhigh are to consistently do your course work until you have completed your courses along with reading and following instructions carefully.  With that said, read on!

On the first page of each course you will be told what is required to get a credit for this course. Next, read the instructions from the teacher. Then begin your lessons.

To give teachers time to respond, students may submit no more than 2 lessons/assessments per day per course.

Students may submit no more than 1 lesson/assessment per day (a revision counts as the 1 lesson for the day) in the following courses:

  • American History
  • Speech
  • Art History
  • All Math courses (unless students get a response on a multiple choice lesson that they can move on to the next lesson).
  • Chemistry- (unless students get a response on a multiple choice lesson that they can move on to the next lesson).
  • Spanish 1 and Spanish 2- (unless students get a response on a multiple choice lesson that they can move on to the next lesson).

In many of the courses you take with Compuhigh you will find that the assignments require you to do additional research in order to complete them.  You can use the internet search engines for this research.  All answers must be written in your own words.  Plagiarism is not acceptable. All work you submit must be in your own words.  Copying work from another website or student is plagiarism. You will not pass your course if you plagiarize.  The process of doing a research paper or a report is as follows:

  • Go to various websites and gather information
  • Take notes about the subject you are researching
  • Note the exact website used in "citing your sources"
  • Begin writing your paper in your own words

Go to various websites and gather information. We are more concerned with the effort you put into a lesson, than rushing through a lesson to complete the course. Writing in your own words will help you to develop your own thinking processes and improve your written communication and creative skills. Be creative and honest with your written assignments. If you have any questions at all during your writing process, please ask. That is what we are here for, and  we are more than happy to assist.

Students enrolled in Compuhigh are graded on the effort and quality of their work. You can't fail a course as long as you complete the requirements properly (without plagiarizing). If a teacher asks you to revise your work, that's okay. Being asked for a revision won't affect your grade.   We are more concerned with you learning and retaining the information than getting it right the first time. Put your best effort into your work rather than hurrying to complete assignments. You will be graded on the effort and quality of your work.
